- I work in partnership with parents and plan regular discussions about their child and his/her development and progress. An online system allows parents to be fully involved and view their child’s learning journal. Parents and I can share the child’s current interests, experiences and any challenges. All documents and strategies regarding the child would be shared with parents to provide consistency for the child.

- I aim to know the children attending well and by observing, tracking and monitoring their development identify any areas of concern. I would discuss this with parents and their Health visitor with parent’s permission.

- My knowledge and training would allow me to create individual learning plans with areas of focus and strategies to be used. This would be shared with parents so that we can work in partnership and provided consistency for your child. I also offer a lending library scheme so resources can be taken home where learning can continue. Any useful literature will be shared with parents to support the child’s learning and development.

- By knowing your child well and having regular discussions with parents I aim to meet each child’s individual needs. I will provide open ended resources and plan activities around children’s interest to fully engage them into their learning. I will track and complete termly reports to highlight next steps and share these with parents and other professionals. Advice from other professionals will be followed to support learning and development.

- By reviewing individual plans and completing termly reports will show progress and any areas of learning that need some support. All documents will be shared with parents and access to the online learning journal will provide evidence to ensure children are meeting their outcomes.

- My setting is all inclusive with furniture and resources at child height. Open ended, natural resources allow children to participate in well planned activities that meet the needs of all the children. Any further resources or equipment will be purchased.

- Access to the setting is via two flights of stairs which have hand rails. The setting inside is fully accessible with a downstairs toilet and hand washing facilities. All furniture and resources are at child height and fully accessible. Outside consists of a large three-tiered garden, the lower level fully accessible to all and the upper two tiers providing gross motor and risk assessment opportunities.

- All activities outside and outings will be planned around the children’s interests. Each new location/place will be risk assessed beforehand to ensure safety and accessibility for all children. If required may contact venues beforehand to discuss suitability. To ensure all children can take part a suitable adult may accompany myself on trips with prior consent or parents will be invited to ensure all children can take part.

- I work in partnership with other professionals considering their advice and training opportunities.
I have previously worked alongside speech and language therapist’s, additional educational needs workers, physiotherapists, moving and handling team, health visitors, community nurses and epilepsy nurses. I also like to share good practice with other childminders and settings.
- How Do You Support Children Starting And Leaving The Setting: Yes
- An initial transition meeting may be required for all professionals and parents to discuss and agree a transition plan. On starting and leaving the setting a transition plan would be prepared and any resources such as photos and visits would be arranged. All families and children have an initial visit to discuss their requirements and suitability of the setting. If needs can be met a settling period will commence where further visits will be arranged. I aim to be flexible with visits for children with additional needs as some children may require longer visits or more regular shorter visits. I will ensure any relevant training is undertaken as soon as possible to help aid a smooth transition.

- I have SENCO training alongside a level 3 award in Supporting Children and Young People’s Speech, Language and Communication, Signalong phase 1, Epilepsy awareness, moving and handling, Elklan Speech and Language Support and Wellcom training. I have experience with Asthma, tube feeding, mild autism, global developmental delay, hearing impairment, eczma and Di George syndrome. I attend regular Sen network meetings, keep my training up to date and prioritise my continuing professional development.
