- We gradually admit the child into the setting and gather information about them from their parents.
Parents are asked to complete a development stage form during the child’s settling sessions and practitioners complete a baseline in the first two weeks of the child’s attendance at nursery to know the child’s stage of development, the outcomes which is then shared with parents/carers and a next step of learning is implemented.

- When the child starts nursery, we observe them, carry out baseline assessments and identify the children’s strengths and any areas for development. If a child is performing below age related expectations the Nursery manager/SENCO will discuss this with the parent. Further support strategies will be sought.
