ENROL - Online School Admissions - User Guide

This guide is designed to give you information about the online service and to help answer some of the questions about online admissions.

How do I apply for a place online?

Primary
If you wish to apply for a reception school place online, you must complete the online form from the local authority where the school is located.

Secondary
If you wish to apply for a secondary school place online, you must complete the online form from the local authority to which you pay your council tax.

When can I use the online system?

The online system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The primary and secondary application forms will be made available from 8th September 2008 (secondary) and 3rd November 2008 (primary) until the closing dates of Friday 24th October 2008 for secondary admissions and Friday 19th December 2008 for primary applications.

Will my application be secure?

At the beginning of the application process you are asked to provide an email address and a password of your choice. The only way to view or amend your application is to login using the correct email address and password combination. All data provided is processed in accordance with the data protection act.

What details will be requested on the online application?

You will not need any more information than you would need if you were using a paper application.

If I can’t finish the application or wish to make changes later on, can I save it and recall it later?

Yes, you can recall your online form and make changes providing you do not submit the application. Non-submitted applications can be amended online right until the deadline on the 24th October 2008 (Secondary) and 19th December 2008 (Primary).

Should I send a paper copy as well?

No, you should either complete an online application OR a paper application.

How will I know my online application has been received?

You will receive an e-mail confirming we have received your online application form and a further e-mail confirmation after your application has been downloaded by the Local Authority. If you do not receive an e-mail acknowledgement please contact the admissions team on 0161 770 4213/4214.

Will my application be given priority if I apply online?

No, there are lots of advantages of applying online but your online application will not be given any preferential treatment.

Will I be told the result of my application electronically?
