Welcome to Online Admissions: Children, Young People and Families

The Online Admissions application allows parents/carers of children applying for a reception place at primary school or those moving to secondary school to do so via an online interface.

The application allows you to create an account, add your child(ren) to the account, and create one or more school preferences for your child(ren). Once the preferences have been created, they are available for the Local Authority to view. At the end of the Admissions period, the Local Authority will begin allocating school places to children based on the information supplied in their preferences.

To begin using Online Admissions, create an account using the 'Create Account' link which can be found on the upper left side of this page. To return after creating an account, use the 'Log In' link which can also be found on the upper left side of this page. You may return to and amend your application as many times as you wish up until the deadline but please note that once you have clicked the 'Submit' button at the end of the application process, you may not amend your preference selections online.

2009 Oldham Admissions Timetable:

Reception Admission
• Apply from 3rd November 2008
• Apply until 19th December 2008
• Decisions posted on 1st April 2009

Year 7 Admission
• Apply from 8th September 2008
• Apply until 24th October 2008
• Decisions posted on 2nd March 2009

2009 Password Security:

For additional security, there have been some improvements to the password requirements of the online application form:

Your password must be at least 8 characters in length and contain at least 1 character from each of the following groups:

  • Uppercase letters (A-Z)
  • Lowercase letters (a-z)
  • Digits (0-9)
  • Special Characters (! $ % ^ & * () ; : @ # ~ etc.)

An example of an acceptable password would be: "LosAngeles#2008"

For your Information:

If you wish to apply for a reception school place online, you must complete the online form from the local authority where the school is located.

If you wish to apply for a secondary school place online, you must complete the online form from the local authority to which you pay your council tax.
